It's not even close. In fact I'm going to go out on a limb and say honey badgers are the least annoying predators in the entire game. Packs of dhole and wolves, tigers, leopards, rhinos, and even yaks are far more annoying and deadly. Eagles are certainly more annoying, maybe not as deadly. 2.
Rare feathers are found during the 2nd or 3rd Wogah mission (the one after you build his hut). As for Yak skin you just have to get lucky. Rare Yak isn't hard to find. Just run around the yak spawn area and look for the White hide one (plus in hunter vision it gives off a yellow essence/mist).

I'm half way through the campaign (Not including other side missions) and I haven't found any honey badgers anywhere. Any clue on where to find them?

if you are playing on Survivor you won't find it at all. only way on Survivor to get rare dhole is one hunting mission where you have to kill dholes. it spawns only there (rare striped wolves and black dholes on survivor are non existant except hunting missions idk why i've seen plenty other rare animals in wild but not wolves or dholes) in the
